Job Summary/Description:
KWTX the dominant CBS station in Central Texas is seeking an experienced MMJ. The successful candidate generates their own story ideas and has a strong track record of enterprise reporting and covering live breaking news as an MMJ. Were seeking a leader who can shoot write edit and tell great stories. You will be equipped with all the necessary gear to work in the field and have full access to our two studios and newsrooms. This position will cover weekend reporting and three weekdays.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Generate engaging enterprise content from our Central Texas communities
- Report live in the field and in the studio as a multi-media journalist
- Plan schedule shoot write edit and present news content on-air and on digital platforms
- Collaborate with the news team and news managers to determine daily themes and content
- Create social media and website posts
- Record and edit segments for broadcast
- Availability to work weekends and some holidays
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to generate and tell unique enterprise stories relevant to our Central Texas audience
- Strong news judgment with competence to perform the job with little supervision
- Ability to present clear and concise on-air content in scripted and non-scripted events
- Planning skills that keep you always seeking the next big topic
- Creative thinker with a desire to present information in new formats and with engaging visuals
- Excellent writing shooting and editing skills
- Ability to transport ENG gear for on-location shoots and live shots
- Ability to multitask and be calm and decisive under pressure
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Bachelors degree in journalism or related field or equivalent training and/or experience
