Job Description

As a Sales Executive you will be responsible for selling room-based HVAC solutions to hotels retirement homes and property management firms across Ontario. Youll be primarily engaging purchasing departments and senior leadership teams. This role is heavily focused on new business development (75%) with the remainder dedicated to account management. Leads come from a mix of warm inbound inquiries prospecting and supplied lists. Youll be covering an Ontario-based territory with potential for broader Canadian reach. This is a replacement role reporting directly to the Sales Manager and COO. The base salary is $70000 plus commissions and bonuses.

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:

  • Head Office: Markham Ontario
  • Work Model: In-office 4 days/week
  • Sales Territory: Primarily Ontario potential to cover Canada
  • Schedule: MondayFriday 40 hours/week no evenings or weekends
  • Travel: Occasional (23 times/year for trade shows or client visits)

EXPERIENCE BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 310 years of outbound sales experience
  • Bilingual French an asset
  • 3 - 10 years of sales experience with a strong outbound hunter mentality
  • Experience in selling to hotels retirement centers or property management companies
  • Familiarity with transactional sales
  • Comfortable working primarily from the office with some remote flexibility

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Excel - Basic
  • PowerPoint - Basic
  • MS Word - Basic

THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION

  • PTACs (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners)
  • VTACs (Vertical Terminal Air Conditioners)
  • Room ACs
  • Related replacement HVAC equipment for multi-unit buildings

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION MAKER(S):

  • Industries: Hospitality senior living multi-family housing
  • Customer Size: Small to medium businesses (199 employees)
  • Location: Ontario and Western Canada
  • Decision Makers: Purchasing departments senior leadership (VP/Director) and owners (C-suite)

SALES CYCLE / ORDER VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE

  • Average Order Size: $3000$4000 (replacement); $100000 (construction)
  • Account Revenue: Varies; target is groups with multiple hotels
  • Sales Cycle: Initial engagement: 13 months Closing: as quick as 10 minutes to 2 weeks during peak season

  • 50%: Prospecting / Cold Calling
  • 50%: Warm leads / Supplied lists

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:

  • 23 times/year (trade shows training client visits)

SUPPORT & TRAINING:

  • Sales training: Job shadowing mentoring semi-structured and ad hoc
  • Product training: Online/classroom 23 weeks
  • Expected ramp-up time: Selling to clients within 23 weeks
