Job Description:

Our client an established non-profit organization in the international agricultural trade industry has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director of Growth!

Overview: Our client operates through a strategic alliance with another regional organization who collaboratively administers programs on behalf of state agricultural agencies.

Reporting to the CEO the Senior Director of Growth critically supports our clients mission vision and values by providing leadership in the areas of communications marketing programs membership engagement public relations and any other related function that enhances their messaging growth member engagement and storytelling.

This is a full-time permanent position with a hybrid work schedule requiring onsite work in the Philadelphia PA office. The ability to travel to the Philadelphia PA office as needed is required.

Position Overview: Maintaining a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that gets along with members clients co-workers and supervisors is key. This Senior Director of Growth fully embodies our clients mission and vision as well as demonstrating commitment to the established core values!

  • Strategic Growth Focus: Lead our clients grant strategy government and member (state agencies) relations outreach (sales) marketing and communications.
  • Change Management & Alignment: Align our clients marketing and outreach functions around shared accountability and to form a unified partner and promote growth.
  • Team Structure & Leadership: Oversee a team of two experienced managers Marketing Communications and Outreach and an administrative function with the opportunity to build and shape the team as needed.
  • Cross-Functional & Organizational Design: Collaborating internally and serving as a change agent from a systems and personnel perspective to drive change within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Works to develop and implement the organizations communications and engagement strategy in a manner that aligns with their goals mission and vision.
  • Supports strategic decision-making by providing a number of deliverables analyses projections and recommendations.
  • At the broadest level identifies all stakeholders and ensures that an impactful cohesive communications strategy is in place.
  • Interviews and assists with onboarding efforts of new Marketing & Communications and Liaison programs.
  • Delegates day-to-day management of Marketing & Communications and Liaison programs.
  • Builds and maintains a productive and cohesive team.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Designs and maintains system to ensure our client speaks with one voice and helps guide its actions through the lens of its mission vision and values.
    • Serves as spokesperson as needed.
    • Articulates the brand promise and engages all parts of the organization to close the gap between promise and delivery.
    • Provides leadership in crisis communications.
    • Serves as a gateway for all of our clients high-level inquiries such as FAS requests.
  • Whether through success stories or marketing assets such as testimonial finds and crafts impactful stories of where our client has delivered value for stakeholders.
  • Provides critical qualitative input in concert with quantitative performance measures in deliverables such as grant applications annual reports presentations to Boards or the like.
  • Responsible for membership experience.
    • Develops and implements strategy to increase engagement between our client and its members both on operational and Board level.
  • Responsible for the planning and success of in-person and virtual meetings.
    • Empowers vendors and other parts of our client to execute meeting plans.
    • Routinely breaks down communications silos between staff functional areas and stakeholders.
  • Serves as branch chief ensuring our client is a successful organization (to the benefit not expense of other regions).
  • Understands and successfully navigates complex stakeholder network.
  • Participates in regular management team meetings.
  • Undertakes special projects as assigned.
  • Management Responsibilities:

Experience and Skills:

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree is required masters degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in sales and/or marketing within a non-profit and/or member-based organization.
  • At least 5 years of management-level experience including people management responsibilities.
  • Experience and knowledge in the areas of marketing and promotion trade association international marketing international trade agricultural products food marketing techniques and/or non-profit management are desired.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to listen well and communicate with all levels of management and employees.
  • Strong employee management skills (e.g. relationship building listening and coaching.)
  • Excellent customer/client service skills; strong interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships. Committed to achieving team goals and objectives.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment; flexibility and adaptable.
  • Proficient IT skills with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Must have or able to obtain a valid passport and travel internationally.
