About You
Are you a highly skilled and passionate Data Engineer seeking to make a significant impact within a leading educational institution RMIT University is actively seeking a talented individual to join its esteemed Data and Analytics team. This full-time continuing position offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the design delivery and operation of robust data pipelines that underpin critical analytics reporting and data science initiatives across the University.
In this role you will engage with diverse datasets and leverage cutting-edge cloud technologies including Snowflake dbt BitBucket and SageMaker. Your expertise in data transformation languages such as SQL and Python will be essential in ensuring data quality integrity and adherence to established data governance standards.
We are looking for a collaborative problem-solver with a strong grasp of conceptual logical and physical data modelling and a commitment to DataOps principles. If you are ready to contribute to a forward-thinking team and shape the future of data at RMIT we encourage your application
To be successful in this position youll have:
1 2 Years working experience in a data engineering role.
Proven experience working with multiple data sets and distributed computing tools.
Experience with agile (data) development and operations (DataOps).
Extensive experience of data transformation languages such as SQL and Python.
Experience with Snowflake dbt BitBucket and SageMaker will be highly regarded.

About the Group
Office of the Chief Data & Analytics Officer supports and enables RMITs business strategy by leading and driving the data and analytics agenda for the enterprise. This involves being accountable and responsible for:
Developing and implementing RMITs data and analytics strategy and ensuring ongoing alignment with university
Defining requirements and standards for data and analytics technologies to be delivered by Information Technology
Coordinating and governing data management activities for analytics and reporting
Developing and coordinating advanced analytics capabilities to resolve key university challenges
