Description

Batchers are responsible for the safe accurate and efficient production of ready-mix concrete using a computerized batching system. This position requires daily computer usage and manual labor.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct preoperational inspection Mixer Transporting systems and Conveyer system daily.
  • Operate batching equipment computer batching software pneumatic air systems electric belt systems scales etc.
  • Manage Control and Replenish Raw Material inventory as necessary.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Mechanical knowledge and basic computer knowledge required
  • Verbal communications skills
  • Math skills: add subtract multiplication division
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Power and hand tool knowledge

Education Training and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent is desired but not mandatory
  • Minimum of three months experience working in construction environment preferred
  • Previous PLC experience preferred

Work Context

  • Comply with all company policies procedures and safety requirements
  • Ability to walk climb and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly 40 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
  • Regularly works near moving objects and in climate conditions that include inclement weather heat and humidity and exposure to dust and concrete
  • Noise levels vary within facility. Hearing protection may be required in loud areas
  • Occasionally required to wear fall protection equipment and/or half mask respirator
  • Safety/Steel toe boots hard hats and safety glasses required
