Job Description

Are you passionate about music technology and ready to inspire the next generation of performers and producers Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Music Technician to support our thriving Music Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and creative environment helping to deliver outstanding lessons and performances while maintaining and developing our excellent music facilities.

Your Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and proactive Music Technician to join the vibrant team at Highdown Secondary School and Sixth Form on a part time (20hrs per week) permanent basis. Working closely with the Head of Music you will play a key role in supporting both the academic and co-curricular life of the Music Department. From providing technical support in lessons and guiding students through music technology coursework using Cubase to setting up live events maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe working environment this varied and rewarding role is perfect for someone with a passion for music technology and education. If you enjoy being hands-on thrive in a creative setting and want to contribute to a thriving school community wed love to hear from you.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in multi-track recording and sequencing ideally using Cubase or similar software
  • Confidence in setting up and operating PA systems for live performances and rehearsals
  • Practical ability to maintain and repair musical and technical equipment
  • Knowledge of software installation including VST instruments
  • A flexible conscientious and collaborative approach to supporting staff and students
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and use initiative
  • A good general education including GCSEs in English and Maths
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • A relevant qualification in music technology or production and prior experience supporting music in an educational setting would be desirable.

Salary: GLF Associate 3 - 24272 FTE

Actual Salary: 11600.58

Hours of work: 20hrs per week (4hrs per day) - 39 weeks per year (term time only)
