Geon Technologies is a rapidly growing small business that provides signal processing and sensor system integration services to the United States Government (USG) and the industry base that supports seeks to be known for signals sensors and has expertise in the science and development of signal processing techniques and algorithm solutions for multi-INT signal processing and hardware focused sectors of Geon are supported by the work Geon conducts with open architectures open frameworks and open systems that facilitate the rapid development integration and deployment of techniques and capabilities to operational contexts.

We havean immediate need for a Golang Developer for the development of high-performance and scalable software solutions using the Go programing language. This position involves developing a microservice architecture integrated with SDR Hardware ingesting RF signals. The software developed on this project will be deployed onto a Kubernetes cluster for deployment of the application.

The Software Developer will be responsible for:

• Designing and coding new software as well as modifying existing software to add new features
• Develop and maintain robust and scalable software solutions using the Go programming language with a focus on performance and reliability
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate project requirements into well-designed and efficient code.
• Optimize software applications for maximum performance and efficiency taking advantage of Gos concurrency capabilities.
• Lead the design and development of a scalable microservice architecture
• Making recommendations for improving documentation and software development standards

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Three (3) to fourteen (14) years of experience as a software developer in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity is required.
• Proficiency in Golang for both microservices and monolithic architectures showcasing strong knowledge of Go standard libraries.
• Expertise in concurrent programming understanding Go routines channels and the sync package to optimize performance.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git fostering software configuration management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills capable of designing and implementing scalable maintainable solutions.
• Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented agile development environment meeting tight deadlines and adapting to changing requirements.
• Familiarity with containerization and container orchestration technology.
• Familiarity to RF Signals is a plus but not a requirement for this position
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a Kubernetes certification (CKAD or CKA)
• Active TS/SCI w/ poly security clearance required.

About the work:

In May of 2019 Amazon opened its first AWS Ground Station a virtualized segment for ground processing of satellite signals that support 54 MHz uplink and 500 MHz downlink processing using the proven AWS Cloud Services and technologies. Microsoft Orbital and Google were close behind with their own satellite processing architectures based on cloud services and technologies. Geon Technologies provides wage ranges in accordance with the Maryland Wage Range Transparency law. Paywithin the range will be decided by the company in its sole discretion and will be based on several factors including but not limited to experience and/or other qualifications. The projected pay range for this position is $120000- $160000.
