About AENU

AENU is an experienced climate tech VC fund focused on early-stage companies in northern Europe specializing in the energy transition industrial decarbonisation and climate adaptation. AENU is backed by large institutional LPs and European family offices having closed a first fund of EUR 170 million. Early portfolio winners with strong commercial visibility include Monta Alcemy Hometree and Trawa. As an Article 9 SFDR-aligned fund AENU is committed to funding breakthrough founders who aim to remove 100 Mt COe at scale.

This role is ideal for someone whos excited to take ownership of core financial processes roll up their sleeves in the day-to-day and grow into a more strategic role over time. Youll work closely with our CFO and have exposure to the full spectrum of fund operations from bookkeeping and treasury to reporting and investor relations.

Tasks

Finance & Accounting

  • Prepare and manage booking workflows in DATEV in collaboration with our tax advisor
  • Process incoming and outgoing invoices travel expenses and payment runs
  • Support with monthly and annual closings and maintain clean accounting records

Fund Operations

  • Assist with fund cash flow planning and treasury management
  • Coordinate and execute capital calls and distributions
  • Track investor commitments payments and fund flows
  • Maintain data consistency across tools and reporting structures

Reporting & Compliance

  • Support investor/LP reporting processes
  • Assist with regulatory and compliance topics (KYC/AML LPA limits etc.)
  • Work closely with external parties (auditors fund admin tax/legal advisors) during audits and filings

Projects & Process Improvement

  • Contribute to the optimization of internal tools (e.g. DATEV Affinity CRM Google Sheets)
  • Support data gathering and financial input from portfolio companies
  • Help prepare internal dashboards and support strategic finance initiatives (e.g. fundraising data room)

Requirements

Must-haves

  • 3 years of experience in accounting fund operations or finance (e.g. VC/PE firm Big4 fund administrator family office)
  • Working knowledge of DATEV or comparable tools
  • A hands-on detail-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership
  • Comfortable managing both recurring tasks and ad-hoc requests
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Willingness to work from our Berlin office regularly

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with fund structures LP reporting and capital call workflows
  • Knowledge of VC deals on the investment side (cap tables etc.)
  • Familiarity with KVGs AIFMD or BaFin regulations
  • Using VC/PE ops tools for finance (e.g. fundrbird) as well as investment related tools (e.g. vestberry)
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and a process-optimization mindset
  • Interest in venture capital sustainability or tech ecosystems
