Job Description
Location: Baxley GA
Contract- 1 Year
Client- Southern Company
Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead and support the design and construction of power-related systems within a highly regulated utility environment. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of engineering experience have deep knowledge of engineering standards and project execution processes and demonstrate leadership in managing contractor deliverables construction specifications and system standards. Prior experience at Southern Nuclears Plant Hatch is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:-
Lead and oversee engineering processes ensuring application of design criteria tools and industry best practices

Provide technical guidance and quality assurance reviews for contractor-developed design solutions and construction packages

Support the preparation of cost estimates project scopes material specifications and engineering deliverables

Maintain a strong safety culture ensuring that all project activities are aligned with safety-first principles

Understand and apply processes related to project planning operation construction and maintenance

Collaborate with multiple internal departments involved in project execution

Utilize industry and Southern Company design standards criteria and tools including Maximo and D2 Applications

Ensure compliance with engineering documentation and change control processes such as ABNs ADCs and Equivalency Evaluations

Support construction and maintenance teams through design clarification and field support

Estimate project materials and lead the transmittal of complete construction packages

Bachelors degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (required)

10 years of relevant engineering experience in power generation nuclear or heavy industrial sectors

Experience as a design system maintenance program or procurement engineer at Plant Hatch or within Southern Nuclear Company (preferred)

Familiarity with Southern Nuclear engineering standards systems and documentation processes

Strong work ethic with a results-driven mindset

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight
