Salary: In accordance with the Administrative Salary Scale according to education and experience. Range of $78413 to $112604 (190 days)
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Chief of Teaching Learning and Leading for matters pertaining to curriculum and to the building principals for matters pertaining to the building and to the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees.
Statement of Duties:
- Collaborates with building administrators and the Supervisor of the Subject Area Curriculum to create an ideal learning environment for all students fostering positive interactions enhancing learning and ensuring a high-quality curriculum.
- Oversees classroom teaching and evaluates educators in designated subject areas based on performance criteria and standards.
- Evaluating and coaching staff within their respective departments
- Overseeing and supporting the adoption of new curricula in their respective departments
- Competing walkthroughs with other building and district administrators
- Providing professional development in coordination with the other high school and district administrators
- Facilitate and oversee departmental meetings via a cooperative and objective-oriented approach.
- Vetting interviewing and hiring new staff in their respective departments
- Working with high school and district administrators to provide new teacher orientation professional development and ongoing support throughout the school year for new staff.
- Collaborates with educators to successfully incorporate optimal strategies into curriculum instruction and assessment practices.
- Managing curriculum materials and supplies for their respective departments
- Works to assist in the coordination of State testing
- Attends weekly leadership meetings at the high school.
- Assumes general duties as directed by the Superintendent of Schools and the policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
- Works the requisite hours needed to meet the responsibilities of the aforementioned job description and be responsible for other instructional and general duties as indicated by the directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Supervisor / Director by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education - Required
- Minimum of a Masters Degree in content areas.- Required
- Can demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience at the high school level.
- Administrative experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Attends events outside of the school day
- Graduate course work in curriculum and development.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
