Architect/Sr. Data Engineer

Location: Across Canada/USA

Status: Contract/Full-Time

Responsibilities:

• Lead the solution architecture design across all tiers of the Microsoft Fabric medallion architecture (Raw Bronze Silver Gold)
• Design and implement scalable frameworks for data ingestion curation and business rule enforcement
• Define and enforce naming conventions schema designs and data modeling best practices across workspaces and Fabric items
• Architect robust ETL pipelines with a focus on performance security and maintainability
• Integrate diverse data sources including PMS files Salesforce and Azure SQL into the platform
• Configure incremental refresh attribute mapping and upsert logic using notebooks
• Collaborate with engineers analysts and stakeholders to support Power BI reporting and AI-readiness initiatives

Qualifications:

• 8 years of experience in data architecture or enterprise data engineering roles
• Proven expertise in cloud-native data platforms (Microsoft Fabric experience strongly preferred)
• Deep understanding of data lake house concepts medallion architecture and ETL/ELT pipelines
• Proficiency with Power BI SQL Spark/Notebooks and Azure data services
• Strong documentation and solution design skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with PMS systems and file-based ingestion
• Familiarity with Salesforce data integration
