$29.77 - $39.90 per hour (plus 3% shift differential)

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Assistant Principal and guidance and direction from the Athletic Director the Athletic Trainer provides assistance to student athletes in the prevention evaluation care and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Requirements / Qualifications

Meets degree requirements needed for certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer
One year of experience providing first aid preventative and rehabilitative treatment to athletes.
Valid First Aid and Adult CPR certification from an accredited organization.
Valid California driver license.

Length of Work Year / Work Schedule / Hours

11 months / 2:00 PM - 9:30 PM* / 35 hours per week

*Please note that the posted work schedule is the anticipated base schedule. Work hours will vary depending on athletic events. Weekend work may be necessary.

Examination process: Completed applications will be formally evaluated for minimum qualifications. Candidates who meet the minimum qualificationsthen complete aQualifications Appraisal Interview (scored interview) weight: 100%.

The competitive basis for this recruitment is established asOpen/Promotional - DualCertification. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications are placed on an eligibility list. Selection interviews will be scheduled as candidates qualify until vacancies are filled.

Veterans may be eligible for preference points on entrance examinations (entrance is defined as candidates who are not current employees of the District). Acopy of your DD214 must be submtted at time of application.

Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check fingerprinting physical exam including tuberculosis drug and alcohol screening and an Oath of Allegiance.

The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service whichever is longer. Management employees serve a probationary period of one year.
