Job Description
SALARY
Commensurate with certification and experience based on the Wicomico County Salary Schedule for Teachers. Includes benefits package.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a registered nurse licensed to practice in Maryland.
Associates degree or higher from an accredited institution or a diploma in nursing from an approved professional nursing program.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience of which at least 1 year was in caring in the provision of long term care facility services the past 5 years.
Ability to meet Maryland teacher certification requirements.
Willingness to secure American Heart Association CPR instructors certificate.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Basic computer skills.
Experience in mentoring entry level health care workers helpful.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide classroom instruction in the Health Occupations Program in collabration with cooperating teacher.
Preparation of lesson plans.
Plan and supervise students on clinical experiences.
Maintain an active Program Advisory Committee.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
Attend to such activities as faculty meetings PTA meetings parent meetings and other teaching-related duties as specified in Article 4 of the Negotiated Agreement between the Wicomico County Board of Education and the Wicomico County Education Association.
