Telecommunication Technician Level 1
Position Summary:
Alamon Inc. a Montana-based employee-owned company since 1975 provides installation services to the utilities energy and communications industries is no ceiling when it comes to your professional growth at Alamon an employee owned company.
Alamon Inc. seeks a Telecommunication Technician Level 1 for its Network Services (NWS) department.
This position entails: installation and general upkeep of customers telecommunication systems in a central office setting. The Telecommunication Level 1 Installer must be a self-starter who provides high-quality workmanship and has excellent customer service skills. This position requires extensive travel. (NOTE We will place you with a very experienced team and provide you with on-the-job training)

Job Description:
- Install maintain and upgrade telecommunication equipment in a central office setting.
- Respond to service outages and disruptions.
- Assist in upgrading and replacing outdated and malfunctioning equipment.
- Adhere to all government and company safety regulations.
- Perform quality control checks to verify proper functioning of equipment and connections.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers technicians and customers.
- Understand how to use hand tools test equipment and possess the ability to use a computer to interface with the customers products.
- Possess a general understanding of how to read and interpret floor plans rack drawings and customer-provided work orders.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities including equipment changes upgrades and troubleshooting steps.
- Work effectively with technicians management and customers.
- Communicate effectively including proficiency in written and verbal communications with strong listening skills.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- On the job training is provided.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Must pass the pre-employment screening process which includes a background check drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
- Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions lifting or moving up to 50lbs. and hiking over various terrain.
- Possess a current and valid drivers license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
- Willing to travel locally statewide or regionally as required.
- Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
Work Environment:
- The Telecommunication Technician Level 1 position requires visiting Alamon customer site facilities nationwide travel is required.
- Must be able to work in enterprise educational warehouse and manufacturing settings.
- Indoor and outdoor work will be based off the scope of the contract.
- Exposure to dust odors gases vapors varying noise levels and wet or slick surfaces may be possible.
- When appropriate wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
- This position may require working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions and terrain; may work for long periods in hot cold wet windy or icy conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Must have physical strength balance hand-eye coordination and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Must be able to ride in a vehicle for extended periods of time to travel to and from job sites.
- Ability to work in different temperatures and through changing weather conditions.
- Must be able to traverse all areas of the Jobsite. This may include walking climbing reaching bending crawling kneeling or stretching.
- Ability to clearly distinguish colors shades and brightness when working with multi-colored cablings such as twisted pair copper and fiber optic cable.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and use practical judgment while working through job assignments.
- Ability to work at heights handle ladders along with pushing and pulling equipment.
Travel Requirements:
- This is a full-time position that requires extensive travel.
- Lodging is provided while working and traveling for the Company.
Education and Experience:
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel.
- Must be proficient with a laptop.
- Possess excellent time-management skills and multitasking abilities.
- Possess a strong attention to detail and have a passion for accuracy.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Have a strong network configuration and installation background.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications: Email Excel Word
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Vocational school training or apprenticeship is preferred.
