Job Description

As the Vice President of Retail Sales you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our omni-channel strategy with one of our largest Big Box retail partners. You will guide and manage a high-performing national accounts team and collaborate cross-functionally to develop customer-centric programs and innovations that drive growth profitability and market leadership.

This is a highly visible strategic role focused on deepening customer relationships building business ecosystems that deliver meaningful value and delivering outstanding commercial outcomes. Your ability to bring together stakeholders across Channel Marketing Product and Revenue Growth Management (RGM) will be central to your success.

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield IL. Effective mid-2025 Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices brands and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration along with amenities for dining onsite daycare fitness and recreation.

What you will be doing

  • Manage Strategic Accounts: Own the customer P&L and manage and guide the creation of business plans sales forecasts and budgets to maximize growth and profitability.
  • Build Ecosystem Partnerships: Develop and sustain trusted senior-level relationships with retail partners to jointly drive category innovation and execution.
  • Think Fast: Leverage analytics and performance metrics (POS shipment pricing and promotional trends) to generate actionable insights and influence business outcomes.
  • Work It Together: Collaborate with Channel Marketing to activate impactful product launches promotions and lifecycle management strategies.
  • Make the Hard Call: Provide direction on assortment pricing forecasting and product discontinuations based on evolving business needs.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Guide and mentor the Account Management team to foster a high-performance inclusive and accountable culture.
  • Support Innovation: Partner with the Product team to champion customer-backed innovation and deliver solutions that meet the needs of both consumers and retailers.
  • Champion Field Insights: Guide a sales intelligence approach that includes market and store visits test markets and the development of local insights to enhance strategy execution.

 


Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Sales Marketing Business or a related field.
  • 10 years of progressive sales and national account management experience including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • 8 years of experience driving performance in Big Box retail channels with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and manage complex high-value customer relationships.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to guide strategic planning and execution.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or other advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading retail sales strategy within omni-channel or DTC-enabled businesses.


Additional Information :

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $140000 USD - $220000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and location. In addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a role-based sales incentive plan.
