Job Description
Department: Office of Public Works
Division: Oak Ridge Cemetery

Springfield IL 62702
Starting Rate: $17.00 hourly
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Seasonal employment possible through October
In this role you will:
Perform grounds maintenance duties including string trimming mowing raking decoration removal and limb pick-up.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding labor.
Operate maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Demonstrate reliability strong attendance and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Complete additional outdoor tasks as assigned.
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Qualifications:
The preferred candidate would be someone who is physically capable of working outside in all weather conditions in a physically active manner can perform manual tasks for extended periods of time ability to work well independently and in a team environment and has a positive attitude and great work ethic. Previous experience in lawn or grounds maintenance is preferred. A pre-employment background and drug screen are required. Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time city residents.
