Garbologist - Calgary Impact Centre

Job Type: Part-time Hourly (15 - 24.5 hours per week) Temporary 3-Month Contract

Schedule: Weekdays Weekends and Evenings

Salary: $16.20/hour

What youll be doing:

• Disposing of garbage in the waste compactor in a safe and organized manner.
• Communicating waste stream contamination issues (ie. high volume recyclables mixed with landfill) to the Warehouse Lead or Manager of Donation Flow for follow-up.
• Removing items from the garbage stream that could result in the malfunction or damage of the waste compactor.
• Operating the waste compactor according to the instructions provided.
• Operating pallet jacks and dollies to safely move materials.
• Stacking all empty Gaylords and pallets.
• Keeping the waste compactor area clean and free of safety hazards.

What you bring to the table:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
• Minimum age of 15 or older
• Must have sufficient verbal and written command of the English language.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• Ability to lift sort and move donations candidates must be able to regularly lift in excess of 10 kilograms (22 pounds)
• You deliver amazing customer service by going above and beyond for all Goodwill customers.
• You demonstrate teamwork and engage fellow Team Members in contributing to Goodwills mission & core purpose.
• You have an open and honest attitude while making moral decisions.
