Are you interested in human resources recruiting or people operations Do you enjoy creating order improving systems and supporting people in meaningful ways Are you fluent in Portuguese and excited to help support a global workforce Join the BYU-Pathway Worldwide Human Resources team as an HR Assistant where youll gain valuable hands-on experience while helping support more than 80000 students around the world.

This part-time role is ideal for a motivated detail-oriented student looking to grow their HR skillset in a professional faith-based work environment. Youll help drive key HR functionslike recruitment onboarding and process improvementwhile receiving mentorship and development opportunities. Exceptional performance may lead to continued employment or a full-time internship in the future.

Important: To be considered for this position candidates must be fluent in Portuguese. If you are not fluent in Portuguese please consider applying for our other HR Assistant position. Candidates must also be currently enrolled in a CES Institution reside within commuting distance of the Salt Lake City area be willing to work onsite 23 days per week and have current authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

What Youll Do

  • Coordinate and support the recruitment and onboarding of student employees interns and contracted workers.
  • Assist with screening and onboarding processes for graders and instructors located in Brazil.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and training.
  • Maintain HRIS records (AtWork and Workday) and track employee data.
  • Conduct Student Employment Enrollment Verification each semester.
  • Support compliance efforts and audit documentation such as I-9 forms.
  • Help improve HR processes policies and documentation.
  • Work on special HR projects and grow into responsibilities that match your interests and strengths.


Qualifications

What Were Looking For

Minimum Requirements

  • Fluency in Portuguese (spoken and written).
  • Must currently be enrolled at a Church Educational System institution (BYU BYUIdaho Ensign College BYUHawaii or BYU-Pathway Worldwide).
  • Reside in Utah and be able to work onsite 23 days per week at the Salt Lake City headquarters.
  • Available to work up to 20 hours/week during business hours (MonFri 8 a.m.5 p.m.).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated dependable and eager to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Brazilian employment practices or experience supporting employment in Brazil (a plus but not required).
  • Interest in pursuing a career in HR talent acquisition or people management.
  • Previous office HR or administrative experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn HR platforms (e.g. Workday Oracle HCM).
  • Professional attitude and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
