Are you ready to join the Un-carrier movement
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join the Customer Hub (CHUB) team in DSGs Customer domain. This is a strategic and hands-on role focused on evolving CHUBs architecture to support modern scalable and cloud-native systems.
As a senior technical leader youll drive solution design across multiple initiatives working closely with product managers engineers and SREs to craft systems that are resilient performant and aligned with business goals. Youll play a key role in our cloud modernization journey leveraging AWS services to transform legacy systems and embed standard processes into the teams day-to-day engineering.
Youll have the opportunity to influence architecture decisions across a large-scale customer data platform mentor engineers on cloud-native patterns and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap that underpins customer experience across DSG.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide architectural leadership during the product intake phaseevaluating options identifying risks and helping define scalable solution designs.
  • Own solution architecture across multiple parallel initiatives ensuring design consistency and quality across CHUB components.
  • Own the modernization of CHUB systems by driving cloud-native design and migration strategies using AWS services (e.g. RDS Lambda DynamoDB Step Functions Elasticache Opensearch).
  • Establish reusable cloud reference architectures aligned to AWS Well-Architected Framework and CHUBs technical vision.
  • Partner with engineering SRE and platform teams to implement cloud infrastructure and services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD automation.
  • Coach and mentor engineers across CHUB in cloud architecture security resiliency and observability practices.
  • Participate in and lead design reviews documentation efforts and architectural governance processes.
  • Promote technical excellence through mentorship sharing knowledge and best practices and documentation of architectural decisions.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support cloud cost optimization and recommend improvements to increase operational efficiency.
  • Participate in incident reviews and root cause analysis for cloud-based systems.
  • Collaborate with DSGs central architecture and security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Evaluate new cloud technologies and tools and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • 8 years of experience in software engineering and architecture roles with 3 years passionate about AWS cloud solutions.
  • Strong experience designing scalable distributed systems microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as RDS Lambda/Step Functions S3 DynamoDB ElastiCache Elasticsearch and Neptune.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform CloudFormation) CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
  • Proven understanding of cloud security scalability high availability and cost optimization principles.
  • Background in Java/Spring Boot or similar frameworks; experience refactoring legacy apps for cloud-readiness is a plus.
  • Sophisticated user in observability tools (e.g. Splunk SignalFX CloudWatch Prometheus Grafana).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; able to influence technical direction across teams.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related technical fieldor equivalent practical experience.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (or equivalent hands-on expertise) strongly preferred.
  • Continued education through technical certifications bootcamps or open-source contributions is valued.

Base Pay Range: $102000 - $184000

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on various factors such as work location qualifications and experience so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile employees in regular non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employees eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
