What is this role
The Sales Manager Convenience at Cirkul is a strategic and operational leader responsible for accelerating growth in the convenience retail channel. This role blends category management expertise with direct sales execution - owning account relationships growing shelf presence and ensuring our products deliver in high-velocity impulse-driven environments. Youll serve as a critical connector between internal teams and retail partners using data insights and executional excellence to drive revenue expand distribution and enhance the shopper experience across the C-store landscape.
What does an average day look like
Driving Results:
- Own and exceed sales targets for the convenience channel across key retail accounts.
- Identify performance gaps by market or store and take action whether its a stocking issue merchandising challenge or promotional need.
- Optimize assortment pricing and promotional strategies to grow sales and profit.
- Manage trade spend effectively to maximize ROI and brand impact at retail.
Taking Ownership:
- Build and execute comprehensive sales plans that drive volume velocity and brand visibility.
- Lead conversations internally and externally about whats working and whats not with a bias toward solutions and accountability.
- Ensure product availability and execution by partnering closely with store-level teams distributors and operations.
Making Decisions:
- Analyze sales syndicated data and shopper insights to drive fact-based decisions.
- Adjust tactics based on store-level trends seasonality and competitive dynamics.
- Create channel-specific strategies that align with company objectives while meeting the unique needs of convenience shoppers.
Cultivating Relationships:
- Build strong trusted partnerships with retail buyers distributors and store operators.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing Supply Chain Finance and Product teams to deliver cohesive retail programs.
- Represent Cirkul externally with professionalism and internally as a subject-matter expert on the channel.
Instilling Trust:
- Communicate with clarity consistency and transparency both internally and externally.
- Deliver against commitments and maintain high standards for data accuracy reporting and follow-through.
- Ensure all retail activations uphold Cirkuls quality integrity and brand reputation.
Customer Focus:
- Understand the mindset of the convenience shopper and how to win at retail.
- Tailor programs to resonate within the unique context of the C-store environment.
- Champion customer insights to influence product launches marketing plans and merchandising.
What background should you have
- 7 years of experience in CPG sales category management or trade marketing with a strong focus on convenience.
- Proven success in managing retail accounts securing shelf space and driving revenue growth.
- Experience interpreting syndicated and POS data to inform business decisions.
- Strong understanding of promotional planning retail execution and shopper behavior in high-velocity environments.
- Exceptional communication relationship-building and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Slides Sheets Docs); familiarity with retailer systems and portals is a plus.
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing or a related field.
