Job Description
Part-Time Kindergarten Paraprofessional
Woburn Public Schools is currently seeking a part-time Kindergarten Paraprofessional to support the lead Kindergarten Teacher and students atAltavestaElementary School. This position is for a maximum of 19 hours per week and does not come with any benefits.
DEFINITION:
This Paraprofessional shall be the employee member of the school staff designated by the Superintendent of Schools. The paraprofessional is responsible for assisting the Kindergarten Classroom Teacher with supervision of students in the classroom.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Willingness to work on academics social skills and activities of daily living and participate in training to develop such skills.
- Supervise/assist students across all internal school environments and outside on school grounds.
- Assist and support professional staff across the Kindergarten curriculum.
- Assist in the implementation of behavior support plans for students
- Provide school-based classroom lunch and arrival and recess supervision
- Assume any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal and/or the Teacher.
- Demonstrate dependability initiative responsibility and organization skills.
PREREQUISITE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum High school diploma/GED; Associated Degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with students with social emotional and/or behavioral needs
- Excellent oral written and communication skills
- Citizenship residency or work visa required
SALARY:
In accordance with the Woburn Teachers Association and Woburn School Committee Collective Bargaining Agreement
