Job Description Summary
The Photo Editor is responsible for managing and curating all photographic content for the Panther. This role involves planning assigning and editing photos as well as leading a team of staff photographers.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: Produce and Manage Photo Content: Assign weekly photos manage photographers edit photos and cutlines help with layout and front page design. Select and edit photos for publication. Maintain an organized archive of photos for use in future publications. Work with Team: Collaborate with editors and writers to plan and execute photos. Ensure visual consistency and quality across all sections of the paper. Attend weekly meetings. Plan and Assign Shoots: Plan and assign photo shoots for events features and other editorial content. Ensure photographers are present at key events breaking news and cover important campus activities. Manage scheduling to ensure meeting deadlines. Digital and Print Content: Collaborate with the multimedia and web teams to incorporate photos into digital content.
Required Qualifications
Background in photojournalism. Ability to maintain professionalism and uphold ethical reporting standards.
