TD Asset Management (TDAM) a member of TD Bank Financial Group is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. For over two decades the organization has established competitive market positions in active quantitative and passive portfolio management. As of December 31 2024 TDAM and its affiliates manage over $459 billion in assets on behalf of pension insurance endowment/foundation and corporate clients as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.
In attaining this client commitment TDAM has built one of Canadas largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers Associate Portfolio Managers Traders and Analysts.
We are seeking a full stack developer to join the Portfolio Research & Analytics team at TD Asset Management. The Portfolio Research & Analytics team develops a suite of sophisticated portfolio management and analytics tools. The team is directly integrated into the investment management team and closely collaborates with the end users to develop the tools. These web applications are used daily in the management and monitoring of billions of dollars in assets.
As a Full Stack Developer you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing these portfolio management applications. You will work closely with the Asset Liability Management and Alternative Investment teams directly incorporating portfolio manager feedback as you develop solutions. This is a unique developer role in a front-office environment which is the perfect fit for someone passionate about development and interested in finance.
Responsibilities:
Develop full stack web applications on the Portfolio Analytics platform
Design and build out modern user interfaces in React on the front-end
Implement performant and scalable financial calculations on the back-end
Collaborate directly with the portfolio management teams throughout the entire project cycle
Translate end-user requirements into technical requirements consider edge cases
Own the web applications you develop providing support and addressing issues raised by users
Job Requirements
Previous experience with the following technologies:
- JavaScript (React)
- Python
- SQL (PostgreSQL or any major RDBMS)
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a double degree in Business/Computer Science
Interest in expanding financial knowledge
Additional Qualities We Consider an Asset:
Experience with Linux-based environments
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidate
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
