Description
Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for all aspects of assigned shifts to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff students and guests.
Essential Duties:
- Assign starting posts for officers coming on shift
- Ensure rotation between HQ and Charis is done in an orderly manner
- Assist in the training of security officers and the orientation of new hires
- Conduct training in various security skills not limited to C-Cure report writing and patrol techniques
- Ensure excellent customer service is provided to staff students and visitors
- Oversee and conduct investigations/interviews to gather facts regarding incidents that occur on ministry property and oversee the preparation of written reports
- Familiar with all security systems
- Assist staff/students/visitors with day-to-day requests render aid and/or summon medics and handle other requests as they occur
- Act as a supervisor in the absence of the Security Operations Officer or Director of Security
- Identify areas for improvement within security operations and report to the Security Operations Officer
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Able to deal with uncertainty and stressful situations
- Must possess good judgment discretion integrity professionalism and objectivity
- Must be dependable
- Able to control emotions
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to drag 100 lbs. for 50 feet
- Able to lift 80 pounds
- Ability to operate Windows-based computer systems
Requirements:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Must sign the Statement of Faith
- A high school diploma or equivalent education is required
- Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Shall participate in and complete defensive tactics training
- Reliable transportation
- Valid state-issued drivers license with good driving record must always be in possession while on duty
- May be required to take a medical exam drug test and/or physical fitness assessment
- Must pass all required checks
Experience:
- Prior AWM/CBC security officer experience preferred
- Compensation is commensurate with experience
