The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics invites interested applicants for the position of Aflac Solid Tumor Clinician. The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center provides a rich and collaborative environment for basic clinical and translational research and has a diverse faculty. The Solid Tumor Program is an integral component of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center and currently includes 9 faculty members 4 of whom are primarily basic/translational research-focused as well as 4 advance practice providers (APPs). Additionally the Solid Tumor Program partners closely with our surgical radiation oncology and radiology teams to provide comprehensive state-of-the-art care for pediatric and AYA solid tumor patients. Candidates will have a strong record of demonstrated clinical expertise caring for pediatric oncology patients particularly those with solid tumors. Clinical experience in treating patients on early phase clinical trials and clinical research interest focused on the development and leadership of early phase clinical trials is preferred. The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center has close affiliations with research investigators within the Winship Cancer Institute Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology and a willingness to collaborate across departmental or center boundaries is essential.
About the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center
The successful candidate will join one of the strongest pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the country.
The physician in this position will devote the majority of their effort to clinical responsibilities (0.6-0.8 clinical FTE) in the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta. Clinical coverage will be at Arthur M. Blank Hospital and will include both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities including call and may be adjusted depending on service needs.
