Job Description

HHA/PCA Instructor
Orange/Rockland NY
80-120K

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as an HHA/PCA Instructor for our certified homecare agency. This role is critical to ensuring the quality compliance and preparedness of new Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Personal Care Aides (PCAs). The ideal candidate has a passion for teaching a deep understanding of homecare standards and proven experience in training HHA/PCA students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-person HHA/PCA training classes in accordance with New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulations and agency policies

  • Deliver engaging clear instruction across core competencies including personal care infection control safety nutrition communication and patient rights

  • Provide hands-on training and skills demonstrations in a classroom or lab setting

  • Administer and grade tests maintain attendance records and evaluate student performance

  • Prepare lesson plans training materials and course documentation in compliance with DOH standards

  • Ensure students meet all curriculum requirements and are prepared for state certification

  • Supervise and support students during clinical or simulated training sessions

  • Maintain training records reports and documentation in accordance with agency and state requirements

  • Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications:

  • Active New York State RN license in good standing

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience training HHAs and/or PCAs in a homecare training school or healthcare setting

  • Strong knowledge of NYS DOH curriculum requirements for HHA/PCA programs

  • Excellent communication presentation and organizational skills

  • Professional patient and committed to student success

  • Ability to maintain accurate training records and follow regulatory guidelines
