Our Agile Development Director is a key team member of the Single Family Servicing Technology Team. Our group is responsible for technology delivery for the Servicing business building and supporting a large set of applications and services that enable Freddie Mac to manage servicing for our full loan portfolio. This role will be responsible for leading the Servicing Systems Team a cross-functional organization that encompasses DevOps Production Support End to End Testing and Test Automation across our application portfolio.
The Director will build and lead multiple technology teams supporting the aforementioned functions providing vision for our DevOps capabilities maturing our production support model and ensuring optimal resilience and availability for our applications and driving automation across CI/CD and testing capabilities to improve our delivery efficiency. This position requires a strong communicator able to partner with product and infrastructure platform teams to achieve objectives and a strong technical background with experience in software development and leading software teams.
Delivery of Servicing technology solutions to enable best in class investor reporting default management and loss mitigation capabilities and expense reimbursement for our customers and to ensure optimal cashflow and risk management for our loan portfolio.
Leverage technology and our enterprise data platform to enable servicing portfolio analytics to inform business decisions manage servicer performance and risk.
Define and communication the DevOps vision and strategy aligned with Servicing business objectives and product roadmaps.
Partner with product teams to ensure applications and services have appropriate levels of observability and telemetry to help enable optimization of availability and performance.
Work with product teams to continually improve resiliency of applications through robust error-handling and self-healing capabilities.
Monitor and assess cloud infrastructure usage and identify ways to optimize costs for Servicing applications and data.
Develop a strong production support team ensuring a mature model for managing critical incidents focused on mitigating impact to customers and Freddie Mac and ensure a continual feedback loop to product teams to address functional and resiliency gaps to improve availability and reliability.
Build and manage development and test environments optimizing uptime and ensuring correct configuration availability of test data to support an efficient software lifecycle.
Drive a culture of extensive automation across our end to end and performance testing suites production validation and CI/CD capabilities.
Partner with SF Technology Adoption and other platform teams to integrate new cloud services DevOps capabilities etc. leveraging the latest technology to improve our ability to meet business objectives.
10-12 years of relevant IT software development experience
Experience in directing a team of 25 IT professionals and developing partnerships with stakeholders to deliver robust and complex technology solutions.
Experience with Agile development and agile product teams
Experience with DevOps principles practices and tools
Knowledge and experience with Java microservices architecture REST APIs Spring Boot database platforms (Postgres Mongo etc.) and cloud-based (AWS) platforms & services
Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies and frameworks
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; advanced/studies degree preferred
Build strong partnerships with the technology product teams to help advise strategic decisions as well as drive tactical implementations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Act as an agent of change for new technologies and tools to improve our delivery process and optimize the availability and resiliency of our applications
Ability to drive clarity in ambiguous situations

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $203000 - $305000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position experience skill set internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.Required Experience:
