Job Description
GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJs relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand clients needs attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.
A global industrial company is seeking a Finance Manager to support one of its recently acquired business units. This role will report to the Director of Finance and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations while providing insight through financial analysis and reporting. The Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting integration efforts serve as a strategic partner to the GM and act as a delegate for the Finance Director in select forums.
This position represents a strategic investment in the companys long-term finance leadership pipeline with potential for the selected candidate to grow into a director-level leader and oversee additional business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) Cash Application Customer Invoicing and general ledger accounting
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes including account reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls
- Act as a key finance stakeholder during post-acquisition integration and operational scale-up
- Provide data-driven financial insights and recommendations to site leadership and the Finance Director
- Support the completion of monthly reporting packages
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and long-term financial planning
- Communicate financial results and key metrics in a clear actionable manner to cross-functional stakeholders
- Mentor and review work completed by the staff accountant
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in finance or accounting with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Experience in manufacturing aerospace and defense or industrial settings; multi-site experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced evolving environment
$175000 - $220000 a year
