Job Description
Physician Assistant-Surgery (Permanent Role)
Location: Dallas TX 75246
Shift: Full Time Days 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
- Work Monday through Friday daytime hours; includes one weekend call per month
- Assist in surgeries and manage pre- and post-operative care
- Conduct inpatient rounding and manage patient care in the clinic
- Perform physical exams and obtain detailed medical histories
- Order interpret and evaluate lab results and diagnostic tests
- Prescribe appropriate medications or therapies in accordance with guidelines
- Develop and implement patient care and treatment plans
- Provide counseling to patients and families on health management nutrition medications and preventive care
- Maintain thorough and accurate patient documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Perform indicated procedures under supervision per scope of practice
- Provide follow-up care and emergency department assessments when needed
- Strong understanding of surgical principles and patient care techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to interpret diagnostic and laboratory results
- Competency in electronic medical records and related software
- Skilled in patient education and behavior modification
- Team-oriented and flexible with clinical coverage
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Experience: Preferred minimum of 2 years in surgical or inpatient settings
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of Texas
- NCCPA certification (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
