Job Description
Surgical Techn Contract Role
Location: Utica NY 13502
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
- Shift: 8-hr Eve
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
- Weekly Pay Rate: $1800 - $2000
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring equipment instruments and supplies are sterile and ready.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments holding retractors and anticipating surgical needs.
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Count sponges needles and instruments before and after the operation.
- Handle specimens for lab analysis according to hospital policy.
- Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures.
- Support general robotic and trauma-related surgical cases including neuro surgeries.
- Work closely with RNs anesthesiologists and surgical teams to ensure efficient safe operations.
- Provide care across a wide range of surgical services including pediatric through adult patient populations.
- Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment such as the DaVinci Robot.
- Adhere strictly to infection control and safety standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations as scheduled.
- Certification: Surgical Technologist certification (NBSTSA or NCCT required; grandfathering accepted based on experience)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience in surgical/OR settings
- Must have verifiable scrub trauma and neurosurgery experience
- BLS Certification: Required (American Heart Association preferred)
- Familiarity with Epic EMR system
- Locals accepted-local pay rates will apply to candidates residing within a 75-mile radius.
