Job Description
- Engineer and administer network management solutions (NMS) for a global multi-platform network infrastructure.
- Provide fault and performance monitoring services to enable proactive network health and capacity management.
- Design deploy customize and support NMS tools; evaluate and integrate new monitoring solutions.
- Automate and integrate NMS tools with asset databases and other corporate systems.
- Collaborate with network operations and engineering teams to establish and implement monitoring standards.
- Participate in network management design peer reviews and tooling audits for operational coverage.
- Coordinate with external vendors for tool updates upgrades and certification of new devices/operating versions.
- Develop scripts (primarily in Python) to automate tools and facilitate data exchange with other systems.
- Administer and support enterprise-level RedHat Linux servers for NMS applications.
- Perform data analysis product evaluations and documentation of tool architecture and procedures.
- Educate end users on NMS applications and monitoring features.
- Analyze network packet captures and flow technologies (NetFlow sFlow); customize tools for vendor-specific data.
- Work with various network management protocols (SNMP Syslog NTP DNS AAA LDAP) and networking products (Orchestration Alerting Security Wifi etc.).
- Utilize analytical tools (Splunk ELK Grafana) and databases for data extraction and reporting.
