Job Description
Are you a seasoned Site Civil Engineer with a passion for leadership and business development An exciting role awaits at our clients Charleston South Carolina office where your expertise and drive can make a significant impact. This leadership position offers the chance to shape and grow the civil site practice making a lasting contribution to the Lowcountry region.
The role is designed for a highly motivated and experienced professional ready to take on the challenge of driving strategic direction cultivating client relationships and ensuring the financial success of the practice. The successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary teams oversee design and permitting for site development projects and mentor junior staff all while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate strategic growth plans with office managers and practice leaders.
- Establish and expand market presence through marketing and business development.
- Manage the financial budget for the department and allocate resources effectively.
- Lead and contribute to the production of proposals.
- Serve as a technical resource to project managers and technical staff.
- Determine staffing needs for the section and conduct interviews and hiring.
- Perform performance reviews based on feedback from project managers.
- Provide leadership and continuous performance management to team members including setting expectations goals feedback and coaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
- Professional Engineer License or equivalent.
- Over 10 years of experience in site civil engineering.
- Proven project management and business development experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Contract Document Development (Plans, Specifications, and Quantities/Estimates) Project Meeting Coordination (Organize and Run Meetings) Maintain current department organizational and quality control standards and update as and where necessary Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects Perform design computations Coordinate with and/or manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines Required Skills Knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer/MicroStation Detailed Construction Cost Estimating Technical Specification Writing Proficient in MS Office Software Preferred Skills: In-depth knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars, Engineering Briefs and Orders Working knowledge of DoD Unified Facilities Criteria preferred Working knowledge of Project Management skills (Schedules, budgets, etc) Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program Professional Engineer License or equivalent 4-8 years' experience in civil design Task management experience Preferred Experience Supervisory role on project task experience preferred Road/Highway Design Experience preferred Bottom Line Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program Professional Engineer License or equivalent 4-8 years' experience in Civil Design Task management experience Working knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer/MicroStation Detailed Construction Costs Estimating Technical Specification Writing
