- Location: Ringwood on the lands of the Wurundjeri People outreach
Job Type: 0.9 FTE maximum-term until 21st June 2026 - Compensation: $51.23 negotiable 11.5% Super Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18550

As a Youth Outreach Clinician youll work flexibly and compassionately with young people experiencing challenges around alcohol and other drug use mental health and family relationships.
Your role your impact
No two days will be the same. Youll be out and about meeting young people in community settings such as schools or their homes and providing counselling brief interventions and care coordination. Youll:
- Deliver trauma-informed harm-reduction focused counselling and support
- Work flexibly to meet young people where theyre most comfortable
- Coordinate care with a wide range of services to ensure wrap-around support
- Help clients build on their strengths and connect with the resources that matter to them
- Advocate for young people and support them through crisis and recovery
- Accurately document your work and contribute to program development and evaluation
Who were looking for
Youre a values-driven youth-focused clinician who builds trust easily and brings a calm considered presence to complex situations. Youll have:
- A solid understanding of AOD frameworks and youth-specific risk factors
- A trauma-informed recovery-oriented and culturally safe approach
- Experience engaging young people with a wide range of needs and backgrounds
- The ability to manage ethically complex crisis-driven situations
- Strong boundaries and emotional resilience
- Excellent communication administrative and tech skills

What youll bring
To thrive in this role youll need:
- A degree in Counselling (or higher)
- Minimum AOD Skill Set (additional qualifications such as Cert IV Youth Work Advanced Diploma in AOD Social Work or Psychology highly regarded)
- CPR and First Aid certification
- A current drivers license and ability to travel for outreach (including transporting clients)
- Competency (or willingness to complete competencies) in dual diagnosis work
