The Raw Materials Lab Team Lead supports daily operations in the Quality Control (QC) laboratory focusing on the testing and handling of pharmaceutical raw materials. This role combines hands-on technical responsibilities with team coordination to ensure accurate testing regulatory compliance and efficient lab workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Collect and receive raw material samples in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Perform identification and other required tests on raw materials using validated methods.
- Accurately document all sampling and testing activities in lab records and systems.
- Ensure proper handling storage and disposal of raw material samples.
- Calibrate or verify calibration of laboratory instruments prior to use.
- Support method verification or validation activities as needed.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness supplies and readiness for audits or inspections.
- Follow all applicable cGMP FDA and internal quality standards.
- Report and help investigate any deviations or out-of-specification results.
Team Coordination & Support
- Train and mentor lab technicians on raw material testing procedures and GMP practices.
- Coordinate daily task assignments and ensure timely completion of testing.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
- Track and document training activities to ensure compliance.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g. QA Warehouse Manufacturing).
- Promote a culture of safety quality and continuous improvement.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry Biology or a related scientific discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 23 years of experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment with demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate team activities.
- Hands-on experience with cleanroom procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation practices.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Highly organized self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
