Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive (jr.) SHEQ Manager to oversee and drive the safety health environment and quality management systems within Smit Lamnalcos operations. The SHEQ Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with international standards promoting a safety-first culture and implementing best practices to minimize risk and enhance operational excellence.
Key responsibilities:
- SHEQ responsible for several international contracts/projects.
- Support implementation and compliance of SHEQ policies procedures and strategies on all projects in line with company objectives and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments safety audits and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with operational teams to promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
- Monitor compliance with local regulations international standards and industry-specific requirements.
- Act as the point of contact for client inquiries and audits related to SHEQ.
- Manage emergency response plans and ensure readiness for critical situations.
- Roll-out SHEQ improvement programs and safety campaigns.
You will report to the Group Manager SHEQ in the Netherlands.
Qualifications :
Who are we looking for
The newest addition to our SHEQ team will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. Occupational Health & Safety Quality Management).
- Bring 5-10 years experience in a SHEQ /Safety officer role within the maritime oil & gas or related industries. Having worked as seafarers is a plus.
- Knowledge about international standards e.g. ISO 9001 ISO 14001 ISO 45001 ISM ISPS and OVMSA;
- Has a pro-active and collaborative approach enabling engagement with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
- Fluent in the English language (verbally and in writing);
- Certification in SHEQ-related disciplines is a plus. eg auditor.
Being authorized to work in the Netherlands is mandatory. The SHEQ Manager will be based in the Rotterdam. This is not a rotational position
