Junior Associate Software Engineer - Python

The Work itself: 

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visas internal standards for scalability security and reusability 

• Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings

  Essential Functions: 

• Works under close guidance to implement basic enhancements and modifications to existing software that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices. 

• Learns about automations that improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools.

• Engages with team members to receive feedback on code.

• Follows instructions from manager to implement improvements to code processes and designs with and understands customer/business objectives.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications
1 year of experience and Bachelors degree in Math Science Engineering or Computer Science Information Systems or related field.
OR
Minimum three (3) years of directly related experience without degree.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and ability to develop back-end (e.g. Python Java) code in support of package and product development. This includes the extension of capabilities of packages and products.
The ability to work with CI/CD tools like github actions or Jenkins pipelines. The ability to understand and make some modifications in such pipelines.
The ability to develop and utilize Application Program Interfaces (APIs) a set of routines protocols and tools for building software applications that specify how software components should interact and are used when programming graphical user interface (GUI) components. An API may be for a web-based system operating system database system computer hardware or software library.
Knowledge of and the ability to use database software (e.g. applications web-based applications information systems) to maintain modify and output data.
Knowledge of systems integration process in which separately produced components or subsystems are combined and problems in their interactions are addressed.
Knowledge of data structures which consist of data organization management and storage formats that enable efficient access and modifications. This includes a collection of data values the relationships among them and the functions or operations that can be applied to the data.
