International Tax Manager

Entains tax team is responsible for managing over 1.5bn in annual tax payments across more than 20 countries. Were not just a FTSE 100 business: in the UK alone were a Top 20 taxpayer and taxes account for a significant proportion of the groups cost base. Tax is a prominent function within the business and puts itself at the heart of everything we do.

As an International Tax Manager at Entain youll be at the forefront of helping us to manage both existing tax obligations as well as emerging obligations in the fast-developing and leading-edge world of the taxation of digital services all over the world.

Youll be working closely with people from across the business and around the world from accountants to lawyers to marketing specialists and technology experts in the UK Gibraltar Malta India and elsewhere. Understanding the business is critical to helping shape current and future plans for market growth and expansion.

Youll need to stay abreast of international developments including the evolving areas of taxation of digital businesses as the OECDs BEPS project continues to be implemented and youll need to stay close to the business to ensure the tax strategy and commercial strategy continually align.

Responsibilities include; 

• Working collaboratively within the International Tax team and with key decision makers to design develop promote and deliver a robust international tax strategy across the group.
• Leading the business partner relationship with our International businesses to ensure all tax obligations are met on a timely basis in these jurisdictions.
• Managing the compliance cycle for the International businesses to ensure that all direct tax filings and payments are made within the statutory deadlines.
• Assisting the tax reporting team with tax reporting and forecasting for the international businesses.
• Leading and managing tax audits and litigation within the International businesses to appropriately support and defend the groups tax position and to recommend a strategy for closure of outstanding issues.
• Proactively create appropriate strategies and projects to manage and optimise the groups tax position which are compliant with the Group Tax Strategy and with the KPIs of the tax team. 
• Acting as the first point of contact for the Tax team for the implementation of new business initiatives business restructuring and entry into new countries including complex jurisdictions such as developing economies. 
• Work closely with external tax advisors and lawyers across multiple jurisdictions and maintaining these relationships
• Liaising with relevant trade bodies competitors and professional bodies to keep abreast of industry issues and opportunities technical and case law developments. 

Qualifications :

Essential:

• Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and/or ACA/CA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
• Strong international tax technical knowledge with excellent communication skills
• Ability to excel in fast-paced commercial environment and therefore to prioritise and multitask.
• Pro-active assertive and enthusiastic team player
• Good eye for detail
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of internal tax and non-tax stakeholders (such as finance legal and commercial colleagues) and external stakeholders (such as tax authorities)

Desired:

• Experience of or an interest in the gambling sector
• Experience of or interest in transfer pricing and treasury matters
• Experience of M&A post-merger/acquisition integrations and corporate structuring would be useful
• Some travel will be required
