Location: Houston TX Texas Medical Center
Compensation: $135000 - $148000 annually 8% geographical differential
Schedule: 12-hour shifts Full-Time No On-Call Rotating Weekends & Holidays

About the Role

HireNow Staffing is partnering with a world-class healthcare facility in Houstons renowned Texas Medical Center to recruit three Advanced Practice Providers with a specialization in high-acuity cardiovascular critical care.

This is not your average ICU role. Youll be at the frontline of one of the most advanced heart failure programs in the country delivering complex care to patients supported by mechanical circulatory devices transplants and ECMO therapy in a high-tech multidisciplinary environment.

What Youll Do

As a Heart Failure ICU Nurse Practitioner you will work alongside a seasoned team of intensivists surgeons and critical care specialists to manage patients with advanced and often life-sustaining interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate differential diagnoses

  • Initiate and manage treatment plans for patients with severe cardiac or pulmonary conditions including post-surgical recovery transplants and cardiogenic shock

  • Execute advanced ICU procedures (as credentialed) including:

    • Central and arterial line placements

    • Intubation and ventilator management

    • Pulmonary artery catheterization

    • Thoracentesis and chest tube removal

    • Lumbar punctures

  • Monitor MCS devices and ECMO circuits with ICU team support

  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis treatment and recovery plans

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation

  • Participate in clinical research performance improvement and education programs as needed

Who You Are

Youre a decisive and detail-driven critical care provider who thrives in high-pressure environments. You are comfortable with cardiac technology value collaborative care and believe in treating patients and families with dignity and respect through every step of their journey.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in Texas (or eligibility)

  • Board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP only)

  • 2-3 years of RN or NP experience in a Cardiac ICU CV Recovery or Transplant setting

    • New graduate NPs must have prior ICU RN experience with heart failure transplant or CV surgery patients

  • BLS and ACLS required

  • ECMO and LVAD familiarity highly preferred

  • Exceptional clinical judgment and emotional intelligence
