Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Clinical Operations is a member of the leadership team providing overall clinical service delivery leadership for Eventide. This role will engage in the ongoing development and implementation of our clinical services plan; systems and the work related to performance excellence. The position provides leadership with stakeholders in support of the Eventide mission vision and values. This role is engaged in the development implementation and evaluation of clinical services delivery for seniors including leadership in quality infection prevention analytics MDS training and software technology.

This role fosters a culture of clinical excellence through strong collaborative relationships with operational teams to drive high-quality outcomes across assigned locations. The Director of Clinical Operations promotes compliance best practices and enhances the organizations reputation through active community engagement and leadership presence. This role participates in the development communication and implementation of effective clinical service delivery processes and staffing strategies as it relates to current locations and any new acquisitions. The Director will continue to support the broader Eventide organization and serve as the leader and the standard of service to older adults in clinical excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serves as a partner to site leadership offering expert consultation and support to all clinical operations in alignment with established practices and organizational goals.

Fosters a culture of clinical excellence through strong and collaborative relationships with operational teams to drive high quality outcomes across the organization.

Sets and monitors performance/outcome standards for all areas of the clinical operations across the continuum including staffing standards policies procedures and forms.

Regularly audits and monitors clinical systems including organization-wide monitoring of appropriate key measures of the function. Monitoring will include regular site visits to observe functions and to interact with employees residents and families.

Promotes and maintains compliance and best practices for clinical operations throughout the entire organization.

Maintains current knowledge of and assures implementation of all rules regulations and standards governing accreditation licensing and service provisions for all service lines.

Identifies and creates best practices among clinical operations. Ensures practices are consistent with applicable state and federal regulations and Home Office direction.

Assists in orientation and training for new clinical leaders.

Develops and maintains standard orientation checklists for clinical positions to ensure appropriate competency levels.

Serves as the main point of contact for assistance and consultation for issues identified by the site or others.

Develops new systems as needed and works to continuously improve current systems.

Monitors changes in applicable federal and state regulations/rules and ensures that sites are aware of changes and that appropriate systems are in place to respond to changes.

Assists in strategic planning and participates in budget planning as needed.

Provides interim coverage of clinical leadership at the sites as needed.

Ensures proper education and development activities are in place to maintain and improve the function.

Acts as a resource to all site leaders and their teams both representing the technical expertise and joining with other operational team members in join problem solving always with a focus on quality improvement.

Assures an effective communication and problem-solving process is in place to optimize the flow of information from and to facilities and the Home Office. Promotes collaboration between sites and corporate functions to achieve desired corporate and site goals.

Manages complaints or concerns from residents families employees and/or other site customers when they are not resolved at the site level or when brought directly to the Home Office.

Oversees the selection of preferred vendors and ensures adherence to purchasing commitments.

Provides input to new project development to advise in the areas of physical plant staffing levels and other proforma elements.

Serves as the leader for function related software and oversees the selection of best software or aspects of technology to maximize the function balanced with available resources. Ensures all appropriate staff are trained in and using the software/technology.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a senior care setting or similar work environment required. Including demonstrated experience leading and executing on clinical care delivery systems.

3 years support multi-site clinical delivery and oversight preferred.

Clinical leadership experience preferred.

Ability to frequently travel throughout states of operation.

Experience in training engaging and coaching individuals preferred.

Strong professional network preferred.

Strong clinical expertise in senior services delivery.

Proficient with technology and relevant applications such as Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Microsoft products etc. or the ability to learn the technology solutions quickly.

Strong leadership skills in coaching delegating with accountability facilitating and influencing to achieve results in clinical service delivery.

Strong personal resiliency with emotional/intellectual flexibility ability to remain calm focused and maintain objectivity.

Strong productivity skills in prioritization planning organizing and managing details.

Strong analytical and strategic thinker sees the big picture uses data to identify opportunities and is a change agent to continue to process improve.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in states organization operates.
