DescriptionThis position is a part of Resideo Academy and is responsible for providing technical product training on Resideo home solution products in categories including but not limited to comfort water and security. Additionally the Technical Training Specialist II will develop customized training programs to align with customer needs conduct site evaluations and support troubleshooting requirements in support of Resideo Customers.
The ideal candidate will reside in Minneapolis MN; Austin TX; or Louisville KY to support the requirements for this role.
JOB DUTIES:
- Manage an assigned territory in close collaboration with Sales with the goal of growing business in the territory
- Provide product knowledge training to Resideo customerssupporting new product introductions conversions wallet share gains and maintenance of existing business
- Proactively manage schedule of open classes private classes and on-demand requests for training and/or field support on Resideo solutions
- Effectively manage relationships with Dealers District Sales Managers Distribution and other Channel Partners
- Act as a focal point for real-time Technical Support feedback on product performance for Resideo productsspanning the gap between customer technical support quality and engineering as needed
- Actively participate in new product BETA testing evaluations and launches
- Contribute to and help with the development of new training content and the improvement or updating of existing content
- Document capture and report on non-typical product performance and customer issues as they arise in the field
- Attend industry related functions such as Trade Shows and Association functions when needed
- Keep accurate records of training executed and perform surveys to measure effectiveness
- Document all tasks and project activity
- Required to stand for long periods of time in a classroom environment teaching classes
- Effectively manage Travel & Expense spend to minimize cost while maximizing results
- Support New Product Introduction and Train-the-Trainer activities for new products technologies and processes
- Additional tasks as determined by Regional Training Manager
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires up to 75% travel
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 5 years of industry experience with a preference for at least two years of experience in a customer-facing role
- Professional experience utilizing Microsoft Office tools and OS platforms
- Proven ability to conduct instructor-led trainings and effectively deliver classroom and web-based training with professional classroom demeanor
- Valid US Drivers license
WE VALUE:
- Experience installing or servicing Electronic Security Networking Video HVAC Water Leak Detection Systems and/or Security products highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills (oral written and presentation)
- Residential HVAC experience
- NICET certification preferred
- Resideo or industry product knowledge and experience
- NBFAA certifications
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of eLearning course applications including Lector Articulate and more
- Ability to adapt to evolving products and technology
- Experience as a trainer/educator for technical products
- Excellent team and communication skills
- An ability to take initiative and work with limited direction
