Job Description

EnSafe is accepting applications for an Environmental Compliance Specialist to work in our office in Memphis Tennessee.

EnSafe specializes in custom solutions in Environmental Management and Planning Civil Design Engineering Environmental Restoration Natural & Water Resources Health & Safety and Technology with offices operating within the US.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in environmental science or engineering to join our Compliance team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and will be trained to navigate complex local state and federal environmental regulations. They should be capable of preparing technical documents reports and proposals while contributing meaningfully to client projects across various environmental domains.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Performing environmental inspections at client facilities.
  • Developing and revising various environmental written programs (SPCC Plans stormwater plans groundwater protection plans waste minimization plans air permit applications etc.).
  • Completing annual EPCRA reports (e.g. Tier 2 TRI) and submittal via online reporting platforms (NetDMR EPA CDX system etc.).
  • Performing air emission calculations and reporting.
  • Regulatory research and interpretation.
  • Environmental sample collection monitoring and reporting (soil sampling hazardous waste characterization sampling stormwater sampling wastewater sampling).
  • Management of health and safety during field work.

What You Will Need:

  • BS in Environmental Engineering Environmental Science Biology Chemistry or equivalent sciences.
  • 1-2 years of prior environmental consulting experience is preferred (including co-ops and internships).
  • Effective written/verbal communication presentation and organization/analytical skills; experience writing detailed technical reports and plans.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills while working on multiple projects for multiple project managers and clients. Candidates must be detail-oriented and exhibit good listening and note-taking skills.
  • Regular travel to client locations (local and regional) with occasional travel nationally. Some travel will be overnight and at times for extended periods. Candidates must be willing and able to work independently with little to no oversight in select circumstances.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • A drivers license is required.
  • Commitment to uphold EnSafe standards of quality and safety.
