Job Description

Job Title:District PIEMSCoordinator

Exemption Status/ Test:Exempt/Professional

Reports to:Assistant Superintendent

Department/ School:Curriculum Department

Minimum Salary:$62082 (Minimum starting annual salary)

AnnualWork Calendar Days:226 Days

Primary Purpose:

To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the district through the collection and dissemination of necessary data for state reporting.

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Bachelors Degree preferrednot required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Experience with computer mainframes and computer software
Be able to use personal computer and software; Knowledge of TEAs TEASE TEAL TSDS UID TREX software.
Knowledge of Student Attendance Handbook
Knowledge of Public Education Information Management System
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
Ability to work independently self-motivated and make decisions as needed
Communicate effectively with staff and supervisory personnel

Experience:

Experience/Knowledge inattendance student registration state testing and student data management; Experience handling confidential and sensitive information

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Coordinate the collection integration and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to Texas Education Agency PEIMS Data Standards.
  2. Work cooperatively with campus business office and human resource office staff to collect organize and format data required to submit district PEIMS data according to prescribed state deadlines.
  3. Run edits reports and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information. Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis verification and correction.
  4. Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to education service center (ESC) for processing using computer terminal or personal computer.
  5. Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
  6. Coordinate the districts attendance eligibility and accounting procedures.
  7. Oversee attendance clerks data input responsibilities and assist in determining residency status of new students.
  8. Coordinate the districts registration process records collection and records maintenance in accordance with State Federal and Local policy.
  9. Oversee manage train and support all campus registrars district and campus registration events and processes data input records management and reporting activity.
  10. Share responsibilities with the districts technology department for all software applications; has primary responsibility for software applications regarding grade reporting scheduling attendance testing student performance accountability and maximizing efficient data integration.
  11. Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required.
  12. Check edits and verification reports on data to ensure the accuracy of information.

Training and Technical Support

  1. Provide training and support to campuses and to business and human resource office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data through Ascender Skyward and ODS.
  2. Provide training and support to campuses in the area of registration attendance discipline data entry student data information systems and student testing platforms.
  3. Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA attend all regional PEIMS workshops and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.
  4. Provide support/troubleshooting in all areas of student services/student information systems software.

Other

  1. Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and local board policy.
  2. Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents as required.
  3. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The position requires occasional walking standing sitting bending stooping kneeling crouching crawling and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds such as books papers and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
