Job Description
Designer (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Architecture Inc.; Plano TX):Prepare designs through sketches physical models electronic models diagrams massing studies and other visual formats. Utilize BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components. Participate in design critiques and pin-ups. Interpret and apply building codes per regulatory agency requirements. Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans floor plans building elevations and building sections. Coordinate building systems (structural mechanical electrical etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent. Support evaluation and selection of building systems and materials. Attend project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants. Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating. Implement sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment. Assist in site analysis research of concept benchmarks typology and precedents.40 hours per week M-F (9:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.).#LI-DNI #GTM
Qualifications
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture or a related field and 5 years of post-bachelors progressive related work experience; OR a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture or a related field and 3 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience must have 3 years of experience with the following: Interpreting and applying regulatory accessibility codes and building codes; Building construction systems means and methods materials and industry associated standards; Performing all phases of architectural document production including site plans floor plans wall sections building elevations and sections and the relationship between drawings and specifications; Conducting space planning block planning and adjacencies in coordination with building program; Interpreting sketches drawings and building program; and Using Revit.
Of the required experience must have 2 years of experience with the following: Designing buildings for educational institutions.
