The College is accepting applications for a part-time lecturer to teach a summer course for the Mellon Summer Research Training Programs class Engaged Scholarship: Foundations for Critical & Social Theory and Practice. One may apply as a single instructor or propose to teach jointly with another. Responsibilities would include teaching a nine-week course that meets on Monday afternoons from 3:00-6:00 PM from June 10-August 6 2024. Responsibilities would include:
Applicants must hold Ph.D. candidacy status or a Ph.D. degree in history or a qualitative social science field and demonstrate a well-developed interest in contemporary theories of race gender and class. Applicants must also possess at least one year of college-level teaching experience. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate how they have engaged in the values inspiring the Mellon Foundations work. Familiarity with the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship and programs like it is a plus.
