Saint Francis International School a Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Special Educator for the 2025-2026 school year. The position would work with the Resource Coordinator to identify and support students with various learning needs including neurodiverse students and other students with Individual Catholic Education Plans (ICEPs) and Catholic Accommodation Plans (CAPs).This is a part time position with competitive pay commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position has the potential to become full time in combination with other teaching duties at Saint Francis International School. All possibilities can be negotiated in an interview if the qualified candidate is seeking full-time employment with full-time Requirements:Provide support in the area of low incidence disabilitiesParticipate in the development of ICEPs and CAPs work with teachers to implement plans monitor childrens progress and coordinate in ICEP/CAP meetings provide updates on student progress and ensure that families are informed and involved in the educational professional development and technical assistance to staff and parents on IDEA Catholic Accommodation Plans Individualized Catholic Education Plans Catholic Interventions and potential MCPS Service PlansWork closely with teachers to adapt instructional strategies modify classroom materials and create inclusive learning environments tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilitiesWork with the schools Resource Coordinator to arrange and schedule assessments diagnoses and classifications for children with suspected or qualifying classroom observations as it relates to student supportMaintain a centralized recordkeeping system ensuring confidentialityMonitor regular teacher feedback and other survey results to assess efficacy of the identified student support in regular faculty and team in Student Assistance Team required professional development families to external agencies and coordinate the school mission and the Catholic identity of the Saint Francis International School :Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Special Education (Masters degree preferred)Valid MSDE K-12 special education license or equivalent (can be earned within 5 years of hire date)Previous experience teaching children with special needs or supervising special education teachers. At least 3-5 years experience is preferredStrong ability to work with motivate and supervise analytical planning and problem solving skillsEffective communication skills and the ability to work independently and regarding schedules task sharing and for working in a supportive inclusive and student-centered environment.
