Were looking for a talented Technical Writer/Illustrator who loves turning complex technical details into clear easy-to-understand manuals layouts and packaging. If you enjoy working across teams bringing ideas from concept to final release and seeing your work in the hands of our customers - this could be the perfect fit!
What Youll Be Doing
- Team up with Engineering Manufacturing and Marketing to create and update technical manuals product labels and packaging.
- Draft eye-catching layouts for packaging and labeling that meet all the right specs.
- Route documents for review and make sure they check every box for quality and compliance.
- Keep our manuals clear and up-to-date as products evolve.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to translate proofread and print technical documents - sometimes in multiple languages.
- Create accurate illustrations schematics and diagrams that make complex things simple.
- Generate labels and barcodes for new parts and maintain the database.
- Lend a hand with engineering changes BOMs assembly instructions and other support as needed.
- Pitch in on in-house marketing tools that help our customers install and maintain products.
- Keep multiple projects on track - and have fun doing it!
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Education: A technical degree or BA in Graphic Design Printing & Publishing Technology Technical Communication or something similar.
- Experience: At least 2 years of technical writing page layout and illustration work under your belt.
- Familiar with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and revision control - you know how to keep drafts and final versions organized.
- Working knowledge of ANSI Z535.6 for product safety info is a plus.
- Organized detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple projects.
- A good communicator who works well with others and takes initiative.
- You love solving problems and finding ways to make complex ideas easy to understand.
Your Toolbox
- Adobe Creative Suite pro: Illustrator InDesign Photoshop Pagemaker - you know your way around.
- Comfortable with Windows-based applications and ERP systems like Oracle or SAP.
- You understand the nuts and bolts of creating press-ready PDF files and whats needed for print.
