Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Our Bus Fleet office is seeking a Bus Business Analyst who Identifies and clarifies business requirements to successfully deploy proper business solutions by acting as a key liaison between the business units. Works with business units to identify areas for efficiencies makes recommendations and provides support to senior leaders to advance business decisions and resulting programs and projects. Works with the Bus Services Directors Bus Leadership team and project teams to support Bus Services initiatives programs and projects including development of requirements scope and objectives that ensure that stakeholder needs are met and all aspects are efficiently coordinated to completion.

What will I be doing

  • Develops a thorough understanding of the business goals and strategies and facilitates dialogue between business units and Bus Business & Strategy team assisting with prioritization between competing objectives and advancement of program and projects to achieve goals.
  • Develops documents and plans and provides support services producing documents for various audiences including project management documents policy and technical reports charts and presentations using software applications
  • Provides support services to a team some of which may be specialized and unique including developing and delivering initiatives that will enhance the overall customer experience and add value to internal operations.
  • Prepares summary documents to support departmental projects initiatives and leadership decision making by analyzing data and information and compiling into a variety of statistical and / or qualitative reports for leadership review.
  • Provides a range of project management administrative operational coordination and communication services to support the planning and delivery of programs and projects for the research development and implementation of information technology advances and upgrades to the Metrolinx Bus Services systems.
  • Participates in the development implementation and review of business processes to support increase and ensure project management quality and efficiencies.
  • Creates/Writes or advances/distributes communication materials and acts as the point of contact to receive feedback and respond to business or operational questions or concerns.
  • Participates in various internal and external audits by reviewing document and fact discovery procedures providing responses and submissions to auditors tracking audit findings and identified corrective actions through to closure.
  • Develops and maintains an environment of collaboration through strong working relationships between the Bus Services administration team and other Bus Services business units and other divisions across Metrolinx.
  • Creates stability during change to maintain operational integrity (i.e. transitional maintenance and support procedures).
  • Identifies opportunities for new technology/automation or streamlining business processes and workflows.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need

  • Combination of a diploma in a business administration or related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated years of experience providing project and/or program business services (planning design and implementation). Experience working in a public sector organization or unionized environment would be considered an asset.
  • A valid Ontario Class G drivers license would be considered an asset
