Job Description

Are you a strategic leader with deep knowledge of court operations and a passion for public service The City of Seabrook is seeking an experienced dedicated and detail-oriented Director of Municipal Court Services to oversee and manage all aspects of our Municipal Court operations.

About the Role:

As the Director you will report to the Presiding Judge and provide key administrative supervisory and strategic leadership to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Seabrook Municipal Court. Youll oversee staff manage budgets coordinate with external agencies and ensure legal compliance while maintaining excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Municipal Court.

  • Develop and administer the departments annual budget.

  • Supervise court staff including clerks administrative assistants bailiff and contract employees.

  • Coordinate with associate judges and manage courtroom scheduling.

  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws and reporting requirements.

  • Represent the Court in budget presentations and interdepartmental meetings.

  • Oversee service quality and process improvements across court functions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience: Minimum of six (6) years in clerical office or customer service roles with cash handling and reconciliation experience preferred.

  • Certifications: Texas Municipal Court Clerks Level II Certification required; Level III preferred.

  • License: Valid Texas drivers license with good driving record.

Ideal Candidate Traits:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Experience with court software systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of Texas Codes judicial procedures and reporting requirements.

  • Ability to manage and develop staff in a dynamic environment.

This role is classified as essential. You may be required to respond during emergencies or disaster events.
