We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. This vital role is responsible for the cleaning sterilizing and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure a safe and effective environment for patient care. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented committed to quality and able to collaborate with a wide range of departments to support patient safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the organizations mission and core values in all actions.
- Follow all regulations related to patient health safety and confidentiality.
- Clean assemble and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Prepare and assemble surgical and procedural instrument sets for Surgery OB ED and other departments.
- Ensure all instruments are functioning properly; identify those needing repair sharpening or replacement.
- Accurately record sterilization test results and respond appropriately to positive biological indicators.
- Assemble crash carts case carts procedure kits and drape packs.
- Respond to intraoperative requests for additional instrumentation.
- Operate and utilize hospital systems such as PeopleSoft SPM Outlook Omnicell and others.
- Monitor and maintain supply inventory levels and ensure proper rotation and labeling.
- Fill internal supply and equipment requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with deliveries returns and vendor transactions.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage and sterilization areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall team success.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read write and perform basic math.
- Certification in Sterile Processing preferred but not required.
- Experience in sterile processing or healthcare environment preferred.
