Job Description

Physician Assistant-Surgery (Permanent Role)

Location: Plano TX 75093
Shift: Full-time days 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct comprehensive or focused physical examinations and obtain medical histories.
  • Order interpret and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe or recommend medical therapies procedures and medications per policy and within scope of practice.
  • Develop and implement patient-specific treatment plans using evidence-based guidelines.
  • Counsel patients and families on diagnoses treatment plans medications nutrition and wellness strategies.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Provide consultation services in your specialty area and level of training.
  • Perform follow-up care pre- and post-operatively inpatient rounding and ED evaluations as required.
  • Assist in surgical and procedural areas based on training and supervision.
  • Participate in all aspects of perioperative management.
  • Flexible to provide care outside regular hours based on department coverage needs.
Key Success Factors:
  • Solid clinical knowledge in diagnosing and treating various medical and surgical conditions.
  • Familiarity with drug therapies diagnostic methods and preventive care strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in critical thinking and complex problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple patients.
  • Competence in using electronic health records and related applications.
  • Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and deliver patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current Physician Assistant (PA) license in the State of Texas
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
    • NCCPA Certification Current
